You are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people he claims for his own, to proclaim to proclaim the glorious works” of the One who called you from darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were no people, but now you are God’s people; once there was no mercy for you, but now you have found mercy. (1 Peter 2:9 – 10)
St. Jude’s Centre is situated in the quiet Tipperary hills. It is a place to come apart to reflect, listen to one’s own inner thoughts maybe for the first time. To find others who will listen with attention, compassion, respect and in a non-judgemental manner. To open one’s heart and receive the Lord’s love through the prayer of others who too have already had this experience. By the great gift of our Baptism in the Roman Catholic tradition we are honoured to participate in the ministry of Jesus setting His people free. We are just instruments. We are witnesses to the marvellous light which St. Peter speaks of, the light of entering into and experiencing the unconditional, indescribable, boundless love of God. Our greatest joy is seeing people regaining what is rightfully theirs: -Living life with new dignity -a new sense of self worth and self esteem -broken hearts mended -finding it possible to forgive others -past hurts left behind. All this happens because of the Love of the Risen Jesus. With grateful hearts we give Him all the glory.
St. Jude’s Centre is special place of Prayer, Community, Hospitality and Healing,
situated in the solitude of the Tipperary countryside.
“Lord Jesus, we belong to you. We are called to be
a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.”
